Qur'an Bible Comparison Suras 23 - 37

2 He unto Whom belongs the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He has chosen no son nor has He any partner in the Sovereignty. He has created everything and has meted out for it a measure.
3 Yet they choose beside Him other gods who create naught but are themselves created, and possess not hurt nor profit for themselves, and possess not death nor life, nor power to raise the dead.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

We've already shown in talking about sura 6:101 that it was Jesus Christ who created everything. Not only Jesus, but the Spirit was also a partner in creating.
Jesus raised at least 3 people from the dead while he lived on the earth around 1,970 years ago. He possesses life in and of himself, because Jesus Christ is LIFE! And at the final day he will raise up all the dead :)

14 Pray not that day for one destruction, but pray for many destructions!

Psalms 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed.

Should we pray for peace, or pray for destruction (MANY!)?

54 And He it is Who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood and kindred by marriage; for thy Lord is ever Powerful.

Ecclesiastes 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Were our ancestors created from dust, or from water? This seems to be an insignificant point, but the Qur'an is adamant in many places that the first humans were made from fluid....

Romans 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6 Among whom are you also the called of Jesus Christ:
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is for ALL nations. This feeling of exclusivity among the Arabs helps explain why many of them believe the Qur'an in Arabic is the straight word of god, and that no translation into an other language is exactly correct. So any proof brought forth is rejected for the simple fact that it "isn't in Arabic". In contrast, the Bible, or parts of it, has been translated into more tongues than any other book and spread all over the world. But in a sense, this ayat may be correct. Perhaps no other group of people on the planet in 600AD except for the Arabs would have believed the anti-christian, war-like things presented in this book!!!

Sura 27:20 And he sought among the birds and said: How is it that I see not the hoopoe, or is he among the absent ?
21 I verily will punish him with hard punishment or I verily will slay him, or he verily shall bring me a plain excuse.
22 But he was not long in coming, and he said: I have found out (a thing) that you apprehendest not, and I come unto thee from Sheba with sure tidings.

Not in Bible

Not content with slaying just people, let's also slay the birds that don't do what they should. Good grief.

Sura 28:68 Thy Lord brings to pass what He wills and chooses. They have never any choice. Glorified be Allah and Exalted above all that they associate (with Him)!

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Allah gives you no choice. Things happen according to what he feels like. In contrast, the true Lord does give a choice. Glorified be the true God!

85 Lo! He Who has given thee the Qur'an for a law will surely bring thee home again. Say: My Lord is Best Aware of him who brings guidance and him who is in error manifest.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

The scriptures and the Qur'an teach very different things. Which one will bring us home - to live with God in glory?

Sura 29:46 And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which has been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our God and your God is One, and unto Him we surrender.
47 In like manner We have revealed unto thee the Scripture, and those unto whom We gave the Scripture aforetime will believe therein; and of these (also) there are some who believe therein. And none deny Our revelations save the disbelievers.
48 And you (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst you write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted, who follow falsehood.

Isaiah 43:10 You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
43:6 This says the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

If you believe the Qur'an, how can you possibly believe the Bible which plainly contradicts it in many places? This "Our God and your God is one" phrase is exactly what is being repeated in many Christian circles today. It comes straight from the Qur'an. Those who were given the Bible, the Jews and Christians, have they believed in the Qur'an during the 1,400 years of its existence? Not at all except for a few "scholars" of the present day. The "none deny our revelations save the disbelievers" quote is funny. I guess the opposite would be: "Only those who agree are the agreers". ! The definition of someone who denies is "disbeliever". So I'm a disbeliever! I also am a disbeliever in the Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, and Evolution religions also. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to salvation, and i'll take the Bible's word over what two "angels" told Muhammad. If Muhammad HAD studied the scriptures, he wouldn't have accepted the teachings of these two "angels" who contradict the Bible, and deny the divinity of Jesus Christ in so many places.

Sura 32:14 So taste (the evil of your deeds). Forasmuch as you forgot the meeting of this your day, lo! We forget you. Taste the doom of immortality because of what you used to do.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.
Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, You shall not surely die:
1 Timothy 6:16 Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Yes, everyone receives reward or punishment based on the things they did during their lifetime. However, punishment is NOT immortality. Satan's very first lie to humans was to say "you won't really die" like God said they would if they sinned. The Bible is clear: "The soul that sins, it shall die". It shall not keep going around GO forever and ever in a game of utter misery. Only God has immortality. He will also give it to us when he changes us "in the twinkling of an eye" when Jesus comes back to this world again.

Sura 33:7 And when We exacted a covenant from the prophets, and from thee (O Muhammad) and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus son of Mary. We took from them a solemn covenant;

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

So these 2 "angels" who gave the Qur'an to Mohammed "exacted a covenant" from Jesus? That makes them greater than Jesus doesn't it? Because only a higher authority can "exact a covenant" from a lower authority. Jesus did everything voluntarily, even giving his life for us on the cross was a voluntary act. Nobody made him do it, he did it from love for us

50 O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom you have paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesses of those whom Allah has given thee as spoils of war, and the daughters of thine uncle on the father's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the father's side, and the daughters of thine uncle on the mother's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the mother's side who emigrated with thee, and a believing woman if she give herself unto the Prophet and the Prophet desire to ask her in marriage - a privilege for thee only, not for the (rest of) believers - We are Aware of that which We enjoined upon them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess - that you mayst be free from blame, for Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

1 Corinthians 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof you wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
7:27 are you bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. are you loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

Special marriage privileges for Mohammed.... Many places in this book show a sexual fantasyland for men who follow Allah. Perhaps Hugh Hefner got his Playboy idea from the Qur'an?

Sura 34:12 And unto Solomon (We gave) the wind, whereof the morning course was a month's journey and the evening course a month's journey, and We caused the fount of copper to gush forth for him, and (We gave him) certain of the jinn who worked before him by permission of his Lord. And such of them as deviated from Our command, them We caused to taste the punishment of flaming Fire.

Not in Bible

Strange science. The jinns are supposed to be some kind of beings Allah created out of fire. Of course nothing like that is in the Bible.

Sura 35:36 But as for those who disbelieve, for them is fire of hell; it takes not complete effect upon them so that they can die, nor is its torment lightened for them. This is how We punish every ingrate.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

According to the Qur'an, I'm going to a fire of hell where I cannot die. According to the Bible, I will die and go back to dust, awaiting the resurrection day when Jesus returns to this world. Then I will be given a new body and go to heaven, or be burned up body and soul in a lake of fire.

Sura 36:55 Lo! those who merit paradise this day are happily employed, 56 They and their wives, in pleasant shade, on thrones reclining;

Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

 

Allah doesn't beget, God does beget. Which should we believe?
