Qur'an Bible Comparison Suras 38 - 52

Is the Muslim sacred book - Qur'an (Koran) really given by God? This page shows where it disagrees with the Bible. See sura 43:59 where it says Jesus was "nothing but a slave"!! Wait, doesn't the Bible say that Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life"?? And the Qur'an supposedly honors Jesus? But maybe those who think so are hoping to marry "fair ones with wide, lovely eyes" in heaven and have servants wait on them there (sura 52:20). Of course this heaven is for those who do the "smiting of the necks"(sura 47:4) and others of their ilk. Allah is probably popular among Playboy and Soldier of Fortune readers...

39:4 If Allah had willed to choose a son, He could have chosen what He would of that which He has created. Be He Glorified! He is Allah, the One, the Absolute.
Matthew 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
Allah didn't choose Jesus Christ, but God did! In Jesus Christ we trust.

12 And I am commanded to be the first of those who are muslims (surrender unto Him).
Not in Bible (obviously)
Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Mohammed got his teaching from two angels supposedly from heaven. This quote looks like God saw the rise of Islam around 550 years later, and gave his Spirit to Paul to write telling everyone not follow another gospel even if preached by "an angel from heaven".
Here Mohammed is clearly saying he is the first of the muslims, which shows he is starting a new religion.

71 And those who disbelieve are driven unto hell in troops till, when they reach it and the gates thereof are opened, and the warders thereof say unto them: Came there not unto you messengers of your own, reciting unto you the revelations of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this your Day ? they say: Yea, verily. But the word of doom of disbelievers is fulfilled.
72 It is said (unto them): Enter you the gates of hell to dwell therein. This is the hapless journey's end of the scorners.
73 And those who keep their duty to their Lord are driven unto the Garden in troops till, when they reach it, and the gates thereof are opened, and the warders thereof say unto them: Peace be unto you! You are good, so enter you (the Garden of delight), to dwell therein;
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Driving people in troops to hell, or heaven. Neither one sounds very attractive. Also notice that those who enter Allah's heaven are "good", but those who enter God's heaven are not "good" of themselves, but are forgiven of their sins by Jesus.

Sura 41:28 That is the reward of Allah's enemies: the Fire. Therein is their immortal home, payment for as much as they denied Our revelations.
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
21:1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
This point that those who go to hell are immortal has been proven false at sura 4:56 and 20:74. This egregious error seems to be a very important teaching of Allah - threaten everybody with eternal doom.

Sura 43:59 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel.
John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
Pretty clear here about how much the Qur'an really values Jesus - nothing but a slave. In contrast, Jesus calls himself the way, the truth, and the life. Notice that there is no other way to God - either you go thru Jesus, or you just don't get to God at all. This basic pillar of Christianity has been overlooked for far too long in the name of "all you need is love".

81 Say (O Muhammad): If the Beneficent One has a son, then, I shall be first among the worshippers. (But there is no son).
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Thomas the disciple, along with many others, beat Mohammed to worshipping the Son of God. Notice how closely this matches what Satan said to Jesus in the temptation in the wilderness: "If you are the Son of God..."

Sura 47:4 Now when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when you have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (this is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He renders not their actions vain.
1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love), it profits me nothing.
This is one of the most famous ayats for those committing suicide for Allah. But God makes it clear that if you even give your body to be burned, but don't have love, then it is worthless. Does it look like those killing themselves or being killed for Allah are doing it out of love?

47:15 A similitude of the Garden which those who keep their duty (to Allah) are promised: Therein are rivers of water unpolluted, and rivers of milk whereof the flavour changes not, and rivers of wine delicious to the drinkers, and rivers of clear- run honey; therein for them is every kind of fruit, with pardon from their Lord. (Are those who enjoy all this) like those who are immortal in the Fire and are given boiling water to drink so that it tears their bowels?
Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Again, the Qur'an gets it partly right, and partly wrong. Yes, there is a pure river of life, but nothing in the Bible about rivers of milk (yucky to me), or wine (gross), or honey (yum yum sticky). Of course there are NO immortal people in the fire, as has been proven at sura 32:14.

Sura 48:15 Those who were left behind will say, when you set forth to capture booty: Let us go with you. They fain would change the verdict of Allah. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): You shall not go with us. Allah said this beforehand. Then they will say: You are envious of us. Nay, but they understand not, save a little.
16 Say unto those of the wandering Arabs who were left behind: You will be called against a folk of mighty prowess, to fight them until they surrender; and if you obey, Allah will give you a fair reward; but if you turn away as you did turn away before, He will punish you with a painful doom.
17 There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obey Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turns back, him will He punish with a painful doom.
Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Allah will give you a reward if you fight - booty. God will give you a reward if LOVE your enemies - eternal life. Again, Allah makes it plain he's of this world, while God shows he's of the heavenly world.

48:20 Allah promises you much booty that you will capture, and has given you this in advance, and has withheld men's hands from you, that it may be a token for the believers, and that He may guide you on a right path.
Deuteronomy 27:25 Cursed be he that takes reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.
God will curse you if you fight for money, but Allah promises you money if you fight for him.

48:28 He it is Who has sent His messenger with the guidance and the religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion. And Allah suffices as a Witness.
29 Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. You (O Muhammad) see them bowing and falling prostrate (in worship), seeking bounty from Allah and (His) acceptance. The mark of them is on their foreheads from the traces of prostration. Such is their likeness in the Torah and their likeness in the Gospel - like as sown corn that sends forth its shoot and strengthens it and rises firm upon its stalk, delighting the sowers - that He may enrage the disbelievers with (the sight of) them. Allah has promised, unto such of them as believe and do good works, forgiveness and immense reward.
Revelation 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him (Jesus) upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Matthew 5:47 And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more than others? do not even the publicans (non-believers) do so?
Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God...
Allah's follower's are promised that their fighting will cause Islam to prevail over all religion. Jesus' followers are promised that Jesus himself will come from heaven to cause Christianity to prevail over all religion.
Mohammed, by being hard against the disbelievers, goes directly against the Bible's counsel in Matthew 5 (The Beatitudes). The mark Mohammed talks about on the forehead sounds eerily similar to the Mark of the Beast - Don't want that!!

Sura 49:9 And if two parties of believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them. And if one party of them do wrong to the other, fight you that which do wrong till it return unto the ordinance of Allah; then, if it return, make peace between them justly, and act equitably. Lo! Allah loves the equitable.
2 Thessalonians 3:14 And if any man (speaking of believers) obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
Allah wants you to fight the believer in the wrong, God wants you to admonish him. Which would I rather have my fellow believer do to me when I'm in the wrong?

49:15 The (true) believers are those only who believe in Allah and His messenger and afterward doubt not, but strive with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allah. Such are the sincere.
Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve you the LORD.
I thot we all believed in the same God according to sura 29:46??? But I see now you HAVE TO believe in Allah and Mohammed. I just guess I'm not sincere because I refuse to fight for Allah, or run around his black rock in Mecca etc. etc.

Sura 50:21 And every soul comes, along with it a driver and a witness.
Not in Bible
We have a driver and witness when we go to heaven!?

Sura 51:56 I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me.
Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.
On the surface, these two passages seem similar, but in reading the entire Qur'an, it becomes evident that the real meaning is quite different - Allah does not treat his created beings with respect, ordering them around, but God treats his created beings with respect, even wanting us to reason together with him :)

Sura 52:20 Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes.
24 And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls.
Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Playboy mansions in heaven?!?! To see servants in heaven would be a daily, heart-sickening experience.

There are 114 suras (chapters), so we're about half thru. The suras start out very long, and get shorter and shorter, so fortunately, there isn't a whole lot more of the Qur'an left. Can you guess what the remaining themes are? Same thing - more fighting for Allah, dissing Jesus, playboy heaven etc. etc.

Jesus prophesied about Mohammed? Really? See how Mohammed fights in suras 53-71
